EC (Electronic Conductivity) is the most widely used measure of conductivity in the U.K. and EC levels are a key indicator of nutrient content. The EC Pen allows you to toggle between readouts in EC, CF, and PPM plus °C and °F to get a handle on nutrient temperature.
Whereas the fully waterproof Bluelab Truncheon is ideal for testing in reservoirs, the water resistant EC Pen is a better choice for checking small samples of solution and should not be submerged. It’s anything but delicate though, with a tough, grow-room-ready shock-resistant body, durable sensors, and long-life electrodes. If properly maintained it will last you for years. A crisp, bright, backlit LCD readout gives clear readings every time and the controls are totally intuitive to use.
