Why pre-filter? Because it’s essential that you protect your actual filter from dirt as it goes about its job of removing VOCs and scrubbing odours from extracted air. 

Although it may appear to be a fairly anonymous sock, the CarboAir Pre Filter plays a key role in keeping your climatic control in check. With a clean pre filter in place air moves more quickly through your ventilation system, improving fan performance, efficiency, temperature control, humidity balance, and induction of CO2. Put that all together and you can get meaningful gains in plant development and yield.

If your existing Pre Filter looks grubby it’s time to wash or replace it. Unless you’ve got a replacement to hand you’ll have to shut down your ventilation system until it’s clean and dry again. Clearly this is not a desirable option so always keep a spare Pre Filter or two ready.
